CRYSTAL MAZE with Helen Butcher
A three-day workshop. £135 (£50 deposit)
Friday 15th, Saturday 16th & Sunday 17th August 2025 10 am – 3:30 pm each day. Suitable for confident beginners upwards
This quilt is a modern take on the traditional “Dahlia” design. Usually hand pieced, Helen has redesigned the “Dahlia” to have a three-dimensional twist so you can make it in her favourite machine sewing technique, Foundation Paper Piecing (FPP). Whether you have tried FPP before or not, Helen will walk you through her method step by step. Three days will give plenty of time to review fabric choices (and a whole shop worth of fabric to choose from if you need to fill in any gaps, so bring your pocket money with you!) as well as a chance to get a good way into this project.
Helen will talk about layouts, finishing and quilting whatever project you decide to make with this round block. Each student will receive a full pattern with all blocks shown so they can finish the project at home! This is a machine sewing class and full list of requirements will be supplied. Helen will be working with the shop soon to make a (optional) fabric pack for the feature colours in this quilt – details and prices will be available at the end of May.
Sew and So’s will be on hand with any last minute needs and will also be providing a delicious cake and a bowl of fresh fruit each day to keep you going! So join us for a long weekend of sewing and sweet treats – what’s not to love?
