A fun project for sewists of all levels of experience. Machine sewing experience essential.
Inspired by the Art Deco architecture of the 1920s and 1930s, these designs take the traditional New York Beauty block into the future. Whether you have tried FPP before or not, Helen will walk you through her method step by step. You will have plenty of time on the first day of the course to review fabric choices (and a whole shop worth of fabric to choose from if you need to fill in any gaps, so bring your pocket money with you!) as well as a chance to get started on the first block. Helen will talk about layouts and other projects that can be made with these blocks as well as how to extend the current wall hanging (sized approx. 33 x 72 inches) into a bed quilt. Each student will receive a full pattern and the templates for two blocks every month – make one in class and make the second as homework before the next month’s class! This is a machine sewing class and a full list of requirements will be supplied.
