Join us on one (or all!) of our three-day Residential Quilt Retreats at the Ivy House Country Hotel at the edge of Oulton Broad, Suffolk. A chance to spend time, uninterrupted by day-to-day happenings, to sew to your hearts content and enjoy blissful sewing in the company of like-minded people. Share ideas, see what everyone else is making and talk sewing and fabric without anyone glazing over.
Your host for the three-day weekends is Carolyn James who will ensure you have nothing to think about during your stay - other than what project to make next! All your meals will be prepared for you, dine in the Crooked Barn Restaurant in the evenings and at the end of the day relax and put your feet up in a peaceful en-suite bedroom.
The retreats begin on a Friday at 10 am when you arrive and unload your supplies for the weekend. Carolyn will be there to greet you and help unload if required. You will have an allocated table space for the entire weekend where you can sew as much and for as long as you want.
Bring your own projects to work on throughout the weekend, this could be patchwork, quilting or any textile craft you enjoy: sewing, embroidery, knitting, crochet etc.. Start and finish a brand-new quilt or bring your WIP (work-in-progress) projects – what you make is entirely up to you!
The weekends close at 3:30 pm on a Sunday when you will re-load your car, with help from Carolyn if required, and return home fully relaxed and with lots of finished projects.
