MAKING A GLOVE PUPPET _ A THREE DAY WORKSHOP

Back again by popular demand :Maybe we associate glove puppets with Punch & Judy and children’s toys, but they are also a vehicle for creating original fantastical characters of our own invention.
This three day workshop will introduce this popular puppetry style; teaching construction skills and providing some information about history and performance in a fun and practical way. You will make a glove puppet following the process from design to finishing. Techniques will include moulding & painting soft sculpture character heads, hands and feet, stitching the glove, designing and assembling costumes. (Additional charge of £7 for some of the materials tp be paid to the tutor on the day.)
Joy Haynes has 35 years experience working as a designer and theatre maker, director, performer and tutor. She currently creates and tours her own puppet shows for children and family audiences as Little Chair and directs productions nationally including working with Little Angel Theatre and Polka Theatre. Joy was Director at Norwich Puppet Theatre (2012-2016).
