Workshop Fee: £40
Day/Date: Wednesday 3 June 2026
Time: 10 am – 3:30 pm
Skill level: Some experience of using a sewing machine is required
This one-day workshop is designed for you to brush up on your fine sewing skills. Throughout the day you will practice your precision and test your eye for detail whilst learning some Heirloom style techniques on your Sewing Machine. You will use some of your different decorative stitches, unusual sewing machine accessories and try some speciality needles to create a stitch sample showing off your new skills that you will be keen to apply to your future sewing projects.
Choose traditional white or cream for your sampler or, for a bit of fun, go for a colour of your choice! Have a look through your stash to determine a colour scheme you seem to prefer. You will be using linen or lightweight cotton and a selection of Satin Ribbons, Organza Ribbons, Embroidery/Cross Stitch threads or fine Perle thread, Bias Binding, Lace Edging and Lace ‘Ribbon’.
In addition to the standard sewing machine feet that come with your machine you will need to bring an Open toe foot, Stitch in the Ditch foot and ¼" Seam foot. The following feet would be good to bring if you already have them, but they are not essential, (a demonstration will be given on the day): Candlewick foot, Edge joining foot, Pintuck foot and Gathering Foot.
