Skill level: Beginners and everyone wanting to learn the Quilt As You Go (QAYG) technique
Want to make a bed sized quilt but are daunted by how to quilt it? This workshop will teach you how to quilt any size block, row or section of your quilt using a walking foot and then joining them using a simple and easy Quilt As You Go technique. This QAYG technique uses both machine stitching and hand stitching to join the blocks. Finally, you will learn how to make and add binding for a neat finish to your quilt. You will be working on sample squares in the workshop to develop your quilting skills and confidence.
Skills taught will include: layering the quilt block, wadding & backing fabric to create the “quilt sandwich”, using marking tools to create a quilting design, simple Walking Foot quilting techniques, QAYG method of joining, preparing standard quilt binding, attaching the quilt binding by machine and finishing by hand.
